  • Anti-Terrorism Matters

Legislation on terrorism and related offences in Pakistan has emerged with the passage of time; after promulgation of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs) are established to try acts that are intended to create a sense of fear and insecurity among segments of the public. Matters relating to anti-terrorism require extensive knowledge of criminal law since there are several technicalities involved.

  • Control of Narcotic Substance

Possession of Narcotics substances entail serious consequences including capital sentence depending on the quantity recovered. For the purposes of acts relating to narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and control the production, processing and trafficking of such drugs and substances, Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997 is promulgated; and for the purposes of trying the cases in relation thereto, Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) Courts are established in Pakistan. CNS Courts are recognized as special Courts which exclusively try cases pertaining to offenses related to narcotic substances.

  • Banking Offences

Offences pertaining to Banks are being prosecuted under “The Offences in Respect of Banks (Special Courts) Ordinance, 1984. Banking Offences Courts are established in Pakistan for the purposes of speedy trial of certain offences committed in respect of banks and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto; usually, such matters involve money transactions, an essential constituent of the offence, which plays an extremely crucial role in establishing criminal liability.
